My dear friend took me here to celebrate something special. It was indeed exciting for me to dine here knowing this is Gordon Ramsay’s special restaurant. The expectation with food was huge.
When reached we were escorted to our table by a very friendly hostess. The table setting looked decent and the ambience was quiet and nice. A decent chatter around of people dining and enjoying the conversation. I forget the name of the girl who assisted us with the menu but she as full of energy and was happy to help.
After a lot of thought, we ordered lobster risotto and sweet potato friend for starters and Hell’s kitchen burger and slow-roasted chicken for the main course. We also got served with two bun bread which I believe was complimentary and it was never given to us when asked for one more of it.
I was having risotto for the first time in my life, so I am really not sure if it was great or not but it was extremely bland and the lobster felt very chewy. My friend ate the burger and he loved it and said that the beef inside was melting and was extremely delicious, so you can definitely think of this one.
The slow-roasted chicken was merely an average dish that had no taste to it. The puree had no flavour. The chicken was nicely cooked but it felt like there was something missing to it. I couldn’t finish the dish at all.
I would give 10/10 for the sweet potato friend and felt like it was the best thing that we ate that evening. We also ordered the dessert which was baked alaska. I must say that the whole presentation got me really excited about it but when we ate it it was simply not the right choice of dessert that we should have ordered. The mint and chocolate didn’t blend well, the baked thing on top was very bitter and the whole dessert felt like a very weird combination.
We were also given a complimentary cake and we left that also after tasting it. I am not sure if it was us or the food was bad but it was certainly not met with our expectation. Maybe the name behind the brand got us excited and expected a lot more but certain things didn’t quite match well.
P.S – I really hope Mr.Ramsay won’t yell at me for this.
